About The Position

This is a Locum Tenens position for a Physician Assistant specializing in Hematology/Oncology. The role is based in an outpatient clinic in New York, with occasional inpatient consults. The coverage period is for 6 months, with a clinical shift schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The Physician Assistant will manage adult oncology and hematology patients, seeing approximately 18-20 patients per day. The practice setting includes an outpatient oncology clinic with 15 infusion chairs and occasional inpatient consults. The provider team consists of 1 Physician, 1 Nurse Practitioner, and 3 Clinical Support Staff. The EMR system used is Epic, with AI-assisted charting available.

Requirements

• Active New York Medical License
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology
• Epic EMR experience required
• Chemotherapy administration and management
• Immunotherapy management
• Targeted therapy management
• Hormone therapy management
• Oncology patient evaluation and follow-up
• Occasional inpatient oncology consults

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient Hematology/Oncology care.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for oncology patients.
• Administer and manage chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and hormone therapy.
• Document patient encounters using Epic EMR with AI-assisted charting.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Perform occasional inpatient oncology consultations as needed.
• Maintain timely documentation and comply with facility policies and clinical standards.
