About The Position
This is a locum tenens position for a Physician Assistant specializing in Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic Surgery in Spokane, WA. The role involves inpatient clinical duties and call coverage. The PA will perform morning rounds, assist in surgical procedures, manage cardiothoracic patients in various units, conduct admissions and physicals, and provide call coverage. The coverage period is ongoing, starting January 11, 2027.
Requirements
- Board Certified/Board Eligible (BC/BE)
- Licensed in WA or IMLC
- BLS Certification
- Must be able to cover all shifts
Responsibilities
- Perform morning rounds including daily progress notes, medication management, and ordering appropriate labs and studies.
- Assist in all surgical procedures as first assist, including robotic lobectomy, CABG, TAVR, and valve repairs.
- Manage cardiothoracic patients in the ICU, step-down, and post-operative clinic.
- Conduct patient admissions, consultations, history and physicals, and discharge summaries.
- Provide call coverage including finishing late cases, responding to CCU calls, and returning for emergency surgeries.
