About The Position

FirstHealth of the Carolinas is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant specializing in Cardiothoracic Surgery to join their well-established team in Pinehurst, NC. This role is crucial in delivering exceptional patient care within an advanced cardiac program that offers a range of procedures including minimally invasive techniques, TAVR, CABG, robotic surgery, and lung procedures. The PA will work closely with a team of three surgeons and three other PAs, contributing to first assist duties, post-operative care, ICU management, and clinic responsibilities. The position offers a Monday-Friday schedule with a 1:4 call rotation.

Requirements

Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program
NCCPA certification
Proficient with saphenous vein harvest (open and endoscopic)
Proficient with tube thoracostomy
Management of ventilators and critically ill patients
In-depth knowledge of and experience in titrating inotropic and pressor medications
Efficient with placement of central lines, arterial lines (femoral, radial), Swan-Ganz catheters, and chest tubes
Unrestricted NC Physician Assistant license
NC DEA
ACLS certification through AHA

Nice To Haves

Two years of CT surgery PA experience preferred
