About The Position

This position involves providing direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services under the supervision of a physician within the Cardiology department. The role primarily focuses on inpatient coverage, working with Southview Cardiologists. Responsibilities include obtaining patient history, performing assessments, ordering and interpreting diagnostic procedures, providing and documenting direct treatment and management of health conditions, and counseling patients and their families on preventative health, treatment options, and community resources. The role also involves performing preventative health assessments, screenings, and immunizations.

Requirements

Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed from the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree preferred.
1 year of experience preferred.
