We are seeking a motivated and skilled Cardiology Physician Assistant to join our highly collaborative team of cardiologists and advanced practice clinicians in a state-of-the-art facility seamlessly connected to the Winchester Medical Center. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive cardiovascular care across both inpatient and outpatient settings while working alongside a diverse group of specialists, including electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, advanced heart failure, and structural heart experts. Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Eligible for or currently hold an active Physician Assistant Virginia License.
  • Strong understanding of EP procedures and CMS documentation standards.
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods (Up to 10 hours)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Cardiology or Electrophysiology preferred.
  • New graduates with strong cardiology rotation experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in the outpatient cardiology clinic, including evaluation, follow-up visits, and ongoing management of cardiac conditions.
  • Conduct inpatient rounding on cardiology patients in collaboration with the supervising cardiologist.
  • Respond to patient messages, phone calls, and clinical inquiries through EPIC and other communication channels, providing timely assessment and coordination of care.
  • Document all patient encounters in accordance with CMS and practice standards, including comprehensive note writing, test result review, follow-up communication, and obtaining informed consents when appropriate.
  • Assist with inpatient discharges, including patient education, medication reconciliation, discharge orders, and coordination of follow-up care.
  • Review and interpret electrocardiograms (EKGs) and communicate findings to the care team as appropriate.
  • Respond to emergency department notifications or clinical codes to support cardiology consultations and acute patient care when needed.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary teams to ensure continuity and quality of care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
