About The Position

This is a locum tenens position for an Anesthesiologist at a Level 1 Trauma facility. The role involves providing anesthesia services for a variety of surgical procedures, primarily for adult patients. A significant portion of the role includes medical direction of CRNAs/AAs. The coverage period is from late October 2026 to July 2027, with specific needs for both day and night shift providers.

Requirements

  • Must be a locum tenens provider with prior experience (no first-time locums).
  • Proficiency in General Anesthesia (Adult & Trauma).
  • Proficiency in Acute Pain Management.
  • Proficiency in Spinal Anesthesia.
  • Proficiency in Epidural Anesthesia.
  • Proficiency in Minor Nerve Blocks.
  • Proficiency in Central Line Placement.
  • Proficiency in Arterial Line Placement.
  • Proficiency in Regional Anesthesia for Surgery.
  • Proficiency in Obstetrical Anesthesia.
  • Proficiency in Neurosurgical Anesthesia (Head & Spine).
  • Proficiency in Complex Vascular Procedures (excluding open heart).
  • Proficiency in Complex Orthopedic Procedures.
  • Proficiency in Local Infiltration Techniques.
  • Proficiency in Ultrasound-Guided Block Placement.
  • Proficiency in Ventilation Management.
  • Proficiency in Evaluation and Management of Acute Volume and Blood Pressure Issues.
  • Proficiency in IV Regional Anesthesia.
  • Ability to provide medical direction to CRNAs/AAs 40% of the time, with a maximum of three CRNAs/AAs concurrently.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical direction to CRNAs/AAs 40% of the time, with a maximum of three CRNAs/AAs concurrently.
  • Administer general anesthesia for adult and trauma cases.
  • Provide acute pain management.
  • Administer spinal and epidural anesthesia.
  • Perform minor nerve blocks.
  • Perform central line placement.
  • Perform arterial line placement.
  • Provide regional anesthesia for surgery.
  • Administer obstetrical anesthesia.
  • Provide neurosurgical anesthesia (head & spine).
  • Administer anesthesia for complex vascular procedures (excluding open heart).
  • Administer anesthesia for complex orthopedic procedures.
  • Utilize local infiltration techniques.
  • Perform ultrasound-guided block placement.
  • Manage ventilation.
  • Evaluate and manage acute volume and blood pressure issues.
  • Administer IV regional anesthesia.
