About The Position

We are seeking a Physician for Anesthesiology on a Locum Tenens basis to provide clinical coverage in San Francisco, CA. This role involves providing anesthesia services for inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures at a Tertiary Care Center and Ambulatory Surgery Centers. The position requires flexibility to float between sister facilities and involves managing anesthesia cases independently with occasional CRNA supervision. The coverage period is ongoing, starting August 31, 2026, for a minimum of 26 weeks, with a preference for full-time commitment. The case mix includes general and occasional regional anesthesia, but excludes cardiac, liver, or neuro cases. The ideal candidate will have experience with high acuity (ASA 3+) and trauma cases, as well as experience in a teaching hospital environment. Proficiency in the Epic EMR system is required.

Requirements

Active California Medical License
BC in Anesthesiology (Exceptional BE candidates may be considered if fellowship trained)
Active California DEA with Schedule II Authorization
BLS (Required)
ACLS (AHA Preferred)
Minimum 2 years of Anesthesiology experience
Recent tertiary care experience
Recent solo practice required
Epic experience required
Ability to float between multiple facilities

Trauma experience strongly preferred
Regional Anesthesia (Strongly Preferred)
High acuity (ASA 3+) experience preferred

Responsibilities
