About The Position

The OT/PT Technician is an entry-level position that supports occupational and physical therapists and speech therapists in delivering quality care. The technician performs preparatory and assistive aspects of care, including patient transfers and transport and equipment setup. The role also supports direct patient care and transport, organizes and cleans equipment, maintains adequate supply inventory, and keeps the department clean, safe, and orderly. The technician promotes infection control and provides clerical and other related support as needed.

During patient care, the position is supervised by the treating therapist and ultimately reports to the Supervisor of Occupational, Physical Therapy, or Speech Therapy. Training is on the job.

Requirements

• Completion of a CNA training course or recognized equivalent and current valid state certification, or completion of a hospital patient care course and/or therapy-specific competencies within six months of hire.
• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Current CPR certification.
• Competency in basic computer skills and office equipment operation.

• Patient care experience preferred.
