About The Position

This is a 50-week program where the physical therapist performs evaluation and treatment of patients/residents upon referral to relieve pain, prevent disability, develop and improve skills, and restore function. This position generally requires providing service to adolescent, adult, older adult, and frail elderly age populations in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served. The Orthopedic Resident participates in a minimum of 1500 hours of supervised treatment, clinical practice, specialty practice observation, and classroom/lab instruction. The Orthopedic Resident also develops and enhances physical therapy services, educational programs, and/or research within the practice of physical therapy, a department or program, or AEHN, as per the direction of the Residency Coordinator. Must apply to Orthopedic Resident position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, entry level Master’s Degree or DPT degree, or Bachelor’s Degree plus certification in PT from an APTA accredited curriculum required.
  • At least one year of clinical experience required with outstanding clinical skills and/or exceptional interest in the treatment of patients with orthopedic injuries demonstrated by program development, clinical education, research or patient care and as documented on the residency application.
  • Pennsylvania licensure in Physical Therapy required.
  • AHA BLS CPR
  • PA Act 153
