About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Physical Therapy Manager for a 26-week travel assignment in Bethel, Alaska. This role is ideal for a licensed Physical Therapist with a strong clinical background who is ready to combine direct patient care with department leadership and operational responsibilities. The Physical Therapy Manager will help oversee rehabilitation services, support clinical staff, coordinate patient-care activities, maintain quality standards, and ensure efficient day-to-day operations. Candidates should have at least 4 years of full-time direct patient-care experience, an active Alaska Physical Therapist license, and strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Previous management or supervisory experience is strongly preferred.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
  • Active Physical Therapist license in good standing in the State of Alaska
  • Minimum 4 years of active, full-time patient-care experience
  • Current BLS certification
  • Strong clinical Physical Therapy experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex clinical or administrative situations
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and operational oversight for Physical Therapy services.
  • Support daily scheduling, staffing, workflow, and patient-care coordination.
  • Supervise and support Physical Therapists and other rehabilitation staff as assigned.
  • Maintain high standards of clinical care, patient safety, and professional practice.
  • Provide direct Physical Therapy services when required.
  • Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans based on clinical needs.
  • Support staff orientation, mentoring, education, and competency development.
  • Assist with performance management and staff development.
  • Promote collaboration between rehabilitation, nursing, physicians, case management, and other departments.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and discharge planning.
  • Monitor departmental productivity, quality, and service performance.
  • Assist with development and implementation of policies, procedures, and clinical workflows.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable licensure, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation and professional communication.
  • Support department equipment and supply needs.
  • Identify operational issues and develop practical solutions.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and professional standards at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, staff, leadership, and community partners.
