About The Position

Madera Community Hospital is a growing acute care facility seeking talented individuals with a drive to provide quality care and dedicated to making a difference in our community. This position plans and directs operations of the Inpatient physical therapy and speech therapy services. The manager consults with medical and professional staff of other departments to plan and coordinate joint patient and management objectives. They will conduct staff conferences and plan training programs to maintain proficiency of staff in therapy techniques and use of new methods and equipment to meet patients’ needs. The role involves allocating personnel on the basis of work load, space, and equipment available. The manager ensures that the therapy services provided meet or exceed the standard of care for the professional and adheres to all regulations and policies mandated for the service. The position will provide direct patient care as required and will coordinate hospital-wide training in ergonomics or lifting techniques.

Requirements

  • College Degree-4 year in Physical Therapy required
  • Work requires thorough knowledge of the clinical process and treatment standards
  • Knowledge of the Physical Therapy Practice Act, hospital policies and procedures
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills
  • Good time management and prioritizing skills
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook experience
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of human growth and development, human anatomy and physiology, neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, biomechanics of motion, manifestations of disease and trauma, normal and abnormal physiological responses, injury and disability and ethnic, cultural and socio-economic influences on an individual.
  • Knowledge in neurodevelopment and facilitation treatment techniques, neuromuscular re-education, cardiac monitoring and in the theory and application of all physical therapy modalities.
  • Current State of California Physical Therapist License
  • Current California Driver’s license
  • American Heart Association BCLS certificate

  • Doctorate in PT preferred
