About The Position

The Physical Therapy Assistant at GMG Health Systems Ltd is responsible for supporting licensed physical therapists in the delivery of high-quality patient care. The role involves assisting in the implementation of treatment plans, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and contributing to the overall rehabilitation process to help patients achieve their therapeutic goals.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working as a Physical Therapy Assistant in a clinical setting.
  • Experience in assisting physical therapists with patient care and treatment plans.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and documentation practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and protocols provided by licensed physical therapists.
  • Proficient in performing therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and use of therapy equipment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care, with a focus on improving patient outcomes.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHR software.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physical therapists in the administration of treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the supervising therapist.
  • Prepare treatment areas and equipment, ensuring they are clean, organized, and ready for patient use.
  • Educate patients and their families on exercises and activities to be performed at home to enhance recovery.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of patient treatments and progress in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical and professional standards in all interactions.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current with industry advancements and best practices.
