About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Midtown Atlanta is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) helps deliver compassionate treatment to patients throughout their recovery. The position is based in Midtown Atlanta, Georgia, with a Monday through Friday schedule from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Compensation is $30.00 to $44.00 per hour, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus. The role includes assisting with physical therapy services and carrying out interventions established by the physical therapist. Requirements

Hold a valid state PTA license.
Possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.

Responsibilities

Assist with delivering physical therapy services, including transportation, therapeutic exercises, and functional activities.
Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs established by the physical therapist.
Assist the physical therapist with therapeutic interventions addressing patients’ long-term goals, including strengthening, coordination and balance exercises; posture, endurance and cardiac training; functional skills and community re-entry training; joint mobility and muscle lengthening; and pain relief.
Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics, or assistive devices.
