About The Position

Regency Hospital - Upstate is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) supports physical therapy services for patients, helping deliver compassionate treatment during recovery. This PRN/per-diem role is based in Anderson, South Carolina, and is scheduled on weekdays as needed. Compensation is $37.00 per hour.

The hospital provides an extensive orientation program to support the transition into the setting. The position may offer the potential for full-time opportunities based on demonstrated skills and dedication. Part-time and per-diem employees may qualify for 401(k) participation after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year.

Requirements

• Valid state PTA license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist with delivering physical therapy services, including patient transportation, therapeutic exercises, and functional activities.
• Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs established by the physical therapist.
• Assist the physical therapist with interventions designed to meet patients’ long-term goals, including strengthening, coordination, and balance exercises; posture, endurance/cardiac, functional skills, and community re-entry training; joint mobility and muscle lengthening; and pain relief.
• Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics, or assistive devices.
