About The Position
CHI St. Joseph’s Health of Park Rapids, part of CommonSpirit Health, is an award-winning, 25-bed critical access hospital in the heart of lake country. The hospital is fully accredited by The Joint Commission and offers emergency, trauma, hospitalist, testing, surgery, orthopedics, rehabilitation, and other services. The Physical Therapy Assistant helps patients rebuild or maintain physical wellbeing, function at their best level, reduce pain, and improve quality of life. The role provides treatments in accordance with patients’ plans of care, instructs patients, families, and staff, documents services, and communicates with the medical, nursing, and rehabilitation teams. The position supports the service promise of kind, compassionate care for every person, every time.
Requirements
- Graduate of a Physical Therapist Assistant program from an accredited institution.
- Licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the State of Minnesota.
- 1–3 years of work experience.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate clinical skills necessary to provide appropriate care to all patient groups served by the physical therapy service.
- Provide treatments included in the plan of care.
- Instruct and demonstrate equipment use, treatments, disease processes, self-care, and exercises to patients, families, and staff.
- Document services provided accurately and promptly in the medical record, in accordance with policy.
- Communicate with medical, nursing, and other rehabilitation staff.
- Strive to provide kind, compassionate care to every person, every time.
