About The Position

Sentara Therapy Center Great Bridge is hiring a full-time, day-shift Physical Therapy Assistant in Chesapeake, Virginia. The role administers physical therapy treatments and procedures under the supervision of a physical therapist. The assistant may help develop treatment plans, perform routine functions, and document treatment progress within the scope of treatment plans established by a physical therapist. The position provides age-appropriate education to clients and caregivers and supervises and assumes responsibility for care provided by identified team members.

Requirements

Associate-level degree in Physical Therapy Assistant.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA), including RQI as specified in the posting.

Responsibilities

Administer physical therapy treatments and procedures under the supervision of a physical therapist.
Assist in developing treatment plans and carry out routine functions within the scope of treatment plans established by a physical therapist.
Document treatment progress.
Provide age-appropriate education to clients and caregivers.
Supervise and assume responsibility for care provided by identified team members.
