About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in an LTAC (Long-Term Acute Care) setting in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. The contract is for 13 weeks, starting on 11/30/2026, with guaranteed 35 hours per week. The role involves assisting Physical Therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients within a skilled nursing facility (SNF) that also handles LTAC responsibilities.

Requirements

Active Physical Therapy Assistant license in Massachusetts or eligibility to obtain licensure.
Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
Ability to work in a 35-hour-per-week travel assignment and in a LTAC/SNF environment.
Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.

Nice To Haves

Prior LTAC or skilled nursing facility experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist PT under supervision to implement treatment plans for patients in the LTAC/SNF setting.
Facilitate therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance work, ROM, and standardized functional activities.
Prepare and position patients for therapy, monitor response to interventions, and modify activities as directed.
Document patient progress, accurately record treatments, and communicate changes to the PT and nursing team.
Maintain safety and infection control standards; promote patient dignity and comfort during therapy sessions.
Support care plan goals through collaboration with PT, nursing, and other rehabilitation staff.
