About The Position

Provides treatments for patients with a wide variety of disabilities to help them achieve a maximum level of functional independence. Documents patient care and treatment results appropriately in the medical record in accordance with department policies and procedures and regulatory agency requirements. The position may involve acute care, outpatient care, group programs, community programs, and periodically supervising students.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapist assistant school with an associate’s degree in the major area.
• Ability to comprehend and write in English.
• Massachusetts Physical Therapy Assistant license (MAPTA).
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Must have adequate sight and hearing, either naturally or with prostheses, to meet the position’s requirements.
• Ability to use rehabilitation equipment, including splints, orthoses, prostheses, wheelchairs, activities of daily living (ADL) equipment, and modalities.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors, in patient rooms and therapy gyms, and occasionally in a patient’s home and in the community.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of experience; entry-level applicants are acceptable.
