About The Position

The Physical Therapy Assistant prepares patients and equipment for treatment and assists the Physical Therapist with selected procedures. The role supports patient care and safety, communicates with those involved in active patient management, and helps maintain the facility’s treatment schedule and cleanliness.

Requirements

• Associate degree in physical therapy or graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Current CPR Certificate.
• Interpersonal skills.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• Confidentiality and discretion.
• Customer/client engagement.
• Ability to be dexterous and stand for extended periods.
• Physical ability to balance, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, perform repetitive motions, and use tactile sense, vision, hearing, and speech.

Nice To Haves

• At least 2 years of experience within a Physical Therapy facility, nursing home, or rehabilitation agency is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a patient treatment schedule consistent with the needs of the facility.
• Confer with the person or people most closely associated with active patient management, keeping them informed of additional patient needs, treatment modifications, and progress.
• Aid in the care and safety of patients.
• Prepare equipment for patient treatments as requested by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist the Physical Therapist with selected procedures as directed, checking the patient and equipment during treatment for comfort and safety.
• Perform housekeeping duties and maintain order and cleanliness throughout the facility.
• Attend facility meetings as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
