About The Position
FOX Rehabilitation is seeking licensed Physical Therapy Assistants to provide hands-on care to older adults in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and surrounding communities. Using FOX’s Geriatric House Calls™ model, PTAs work where patients live, carrying out individualized treatment plans established by a supervising Physical Therapist and helping patients improve strength, mobility, confidence, and independence. The role offers one-on-one patient care in homes and senior living communities, collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, and mentorship from a supervising PT. FOX describes opportunities to develop clinical skills, grow a caseload and career, and build a schedule. Full-time, part-time, and PRN/FOX Flex pathways are available; benefits depend on employment type and eligibility.
Requirements
- Hold a valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state(s) of practice, or be eligible to obtain one.
- Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Maintain current CPR certification.
- Have basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Meet the physical demands of in-home and community-based care, including lifting specified loads; performing CPR and patient transfers; assisting with bed mobility; standing, sitting, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs, and extensive walking; performing repetitive upper-extremity movements; driving to care locations; and wearing PPE when required.
Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist, adjusting activities based on patient response and progress.
- Instruct, motivate, and safeguard patients during therapeutic exercises and functional activities, while observing and tracking progress.
- Document visits accurately and on time in FOX’s EMR system, following FOX’s Clinical Documentation standards.
- Stay connected with patients, POAs, and community referral sources, and help coordinate coverage when needed.
- Provide in-home and community-based care, including driving to patient homes and senior living communities.
