About The Position

Virtua Health is hiring a per-diem Physical Therapy Assistant for acute care at its Marlton – Rt 73 and Brick Road location. The position is on-site and part-time, with a first-shift schedule. The assistant performs rehabilitative patient treatments as planned, directed, and supervised by a physical therapist and provides objective data describing patient progress. The role also assists the manager or supervisor with clinical and operational issues and works with the manager to improve processes and utilization of rehabilitation services.

Requirements

Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assistance from a program accredited by the APTA.
Current licensure in the State of New Jersey.
CPR certification.

Responsibilities

Consult with medical and ancillary professionals, other team members, and supervisors to support quality patient care and effective operations.
Provide physical therapy interventions consistent with the plan of care, and provide the physical therapist with ongoing input and direct feedback about patient treatment and status.
Maintain and complete patient records, reports, and written documentation accurately and in a timely manner, following regulatory and department guidelines.
Use aides and other support staff effectively as appropriate.
Communicate with patients and/or their families or significant others, providing education and literature suited to the patient's age, physical condition, and cultural needs.
Assist the manager or supervisor with clinical and operational issues and work to improve processes and utilization of rehabilitation services.
Provide objective data describing patient progress.
