About The Position

HealthPro Heritage has a great opportunity for a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) at Samaritan Care Center and Villa in Medina, OH. This is a part-time position requiring 15-25 hours per week, with a rate range of $30-$36/hr based on experience. The role offers a strong rehab focus with regular exposure to post-acute and long-term therapy patients, a variety of diagnoses including stroke, orthopedic, cardiac, and general deconditioning cases. The position emphasizes continuity of care, allowing for tracking patient progress over time, and provides hands-on experience with frequent opportunities for mobility training, transfers, gait, and ADLs. As part of a small facility, PTAs often get more one-on-one time and responsibility with patients. The role involves interdisciplinary teamwork, collaborating closely with PTs, nurses, and OT staff, and offers real-world skill building in clinical judgment, communication, and patient-centered care. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Physical Therapist Assisting from an accredited program.
  • Valid state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant, or license eligible
  • Strong assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools, therapy equipment, relevant software, and electronic health record systems, with a proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing treatment plans designed by Physical Therapists.
  • Provide direct patient care including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modality applications.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, report observations to the Physical Therapist, and educate patients and families on treatment protocols, exercises, and self-care techniques.
  • Accurately document patient treatments, progress, and responses in compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
  • Work closely with Physical Therapists, other healthcare professionals, and support staff to ensure coordinated patient care and effective treatment outcomes.
