About The Position

The Physical Therapy Assistant works with and under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to treat clinic patients. The PTA may treat patients who have been evaluated and whose plan of care has been established by the therapist, and may progress treatment as appropriate.

Requirements

• Graduate of a school approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
• Must be licensed by the Mississippi Board of Physical Therapy.
• Must be familiar with the modalities, procedures, techniques, and equipment necessary to meet the needs of the patient clientele.
• Must meet continuing education standards set by the Mississippi Board of Physical Therapy.

Responsibilities

• Treat clinic patients under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Treat patients who have been evaluated and whose program of care has been planned by the therapist.
• Progress patient treatment as appropriate.
