About The Position

HealthPro Heritage has a great opportunity for a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA). This is a part-time position, requiring 15-25 hours per week, located at Samaritan Care Center and Villa in Medina, OH. The role offers a rate range of $30-$36/hr, based on years of experience. The position provides a strong rehab focus with regular exposure to post-acute and long-term therapy patients across a variety of diagnoses including stroke, orthopedic, cardiac, and general deconditioning. It emphasizes continuity of care, allowing therapists to track patient progress over time. The role offers hands-on experience with frequent opportunities for mobility training, transfers, gait, and ADLs. Being in a smaller facility means more involvement, with PTAs often receiving more one-on-one time and responsibility with patients. There is also interdisciplinary teamwork, collaborating closely with PTs, nurses, and OT staff, fostering real-world skill building in clinical judgment, communication, and patient-centered care.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in Physical Therapist Assisting from an accredited program.
Valid state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant, or license eligible
Strong assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in using diagnostic tools, therapy equipment, relevant software, and electronic health record systems, with a proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

Assist in implementing treatment plans designed by Physical Therapists.
Provide direct patient care including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modality applications.
Monitor and document patient progress, report observations to the Physical Therapist, and educate patients and families on treatment protocols, exercises, and self-care techniques.
Accurately document patient treatments, progress, and responses in compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
Work closely with Physical Therapists, other healthcare professionals, and support staff to ensure coordinated patient care and effective treatment outcomes.
