About The Position

Amedisys, part of the Optum family of businesses, provides home health, hospice, and community-based services. The Physical Therapist provides skilled physical therapy services to patients in their homes to promote mobility, restore function, improve strength and balance, and enhance safety and independence. The role works collaboratively with patients, caregivers, and an interdisciplinary care team to support recovery, prevent hospitalizations, and improve quality of life in the home setting. The position offers performance recognition and development opportunities. The stated annual salary range is $80,864 to $121,296 based on full-time employment. Pay depends on factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. Benefits are subject to eligibility requirements. Candidates must pass a drug test before beginning employment.

Requirements

Graduate from a physical therapy educational program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
Hold a current physical therapy license specific to the state assigned for work.
Hold current CPR certification.
Have at least 1 year of related physical therapy experience when entering home health care, to ensure sufficient knowledge and skills to safely provide services. Applicants with less than 1 year of experience require approval from regional clinical leaders and appropriate mentoring and/or participation in a residency program.
Have a driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
Pass a drug test before beginning employment.

Responsibilities

Help patients maintain, restore, and improve movement, activity, and function.
Provide interventions, conduct reexaminations at least every 30 days, modify interventions as necessary, and perform discharge planning.
Perform other duties as assigned.
