Requirements

  • A degree in Physical Therapy and licensure in the state of Michigan.
  • Certification as a Brain Injury Specialist (provided by Origami)
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certification (provided by Origami)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and administer one on one physical therapy services to provide quality rehabilitation services.
  • Communicate with appropriate stakeholders involved in advancing client care, ensuring communication is reflective of Origami’s mission, vision, and core values, and is effective, timely, and inclusive.
  • Provide treatment at Origami's Lansing-based campuses, requiring flexibility and adaptability as work location will vary based on organizational needs.
  • Evaluate, document, and implement treatment plans for clients referred by physicians.
  • Provide interns, volunteers, and job shadows meaningful educational experiences.
  • Educate staff, clients, and external stakeholders on individualized home exercise programs and other PT modalities as appropriate.
  • Observe all rules of confidentiality as they pertain to program participants internally, and in working with outside individuals and/or agencies.
  • Proactively initiate and follow-through with tasks utilizing appropriate problem-solving techniques to facilitate communication flow and prompt resolutions.
  • Record evaluations, daily notes, progress reports, discharge reports, and service billings in a timely manner and in accordance with procedure to provide complete documentation for client charts.
  • Delegate and oversee established plans of care with Physical Therapist Assistants as appropriate.
  • Contribute to the design and maintenance of effective and timely systems of documentation, including the collection and analysis of outcome data.
  • Maintain professional excellence through attending networking opportunities, establishing collegial relationships, sharing resources and skills, and/or seeking out opportunities to speak, publish, and contribute to research.
  • Maintain caseload levels at a level deemed reasonable by the PT Supervisor.
  • Attend staff meetings, orientation, in-service trainings, clinical reviews, and care conferences as needed.
  • Provide caseload coverage for PT services as needed.
  • Perform therapy gym maintenance duties such as cleaning surfaces, and laundry needs as needed.
  • Participate in program development, budget planning, and small therapy supply inventory as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the PT Supervisor.
