Part-Time Physical Therapist
About The Position
Newmeadow is a comprehensive ABA school that promotes, provides, and reinforces the use of data-driven teaching techniques for the instruction of all students. Our mission is to transform the lives of children, including those with Autism and other special needs, and prepare them for future learning and development. Newmeadow believes that every child deserves the best education possible to prepare them for the world beyond the classroom. This part-time Physical Therapist position will work within integrated and self-contained preschool classrooms, serving children ages 3-5. The role involves following student IEPs to plan and implement physical therapy activities, monitoring progress, and providing IEP updates. Collaboration with special education teachers, BCBAs, and other therapy providers is essential to ensure a cohesive educational program that adheres to New York State Next Generation Learning Standards.
Requirements
- NYS License - Required
- Experience with preschool population beneficial
Responsibilities
- Follow student’s IEP to plan and implement physical therapy activities
- Monitor student progress
- Provide IEP updates during the school year
- Collaborate with special education teacher, BCBA, and speech and occupational therapy providers to ensure a cohesive educational program
- Follow all classroom New York State Next Generation Learning Standards
