About The Position

Corewell Health is offering up to $15,000 in sign-on bonuses for this opportunity. This part-time weekend position covers Corewell Health South Medical Center locations in Saint Joseph and Niles, as needed. It involves working 46 out of 52 weekends each year. Weekend shifts are defined as shifts between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, though specific times may vary by location and need. The position includes working at least one summer and one winter holiday weekend. Weekly scheduled hours are 24.

The Physical Therapist assesses, plans, organizes, administers, documents, and evaluates direct physical therapy patient care in accordance with accepted physical therapy practice and the physician’s overall treatment plan.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited school of physical therapy (APTA).
• Physical Therapist license in the State of Michigan.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate properly referred patients in accordance with Michigan law to determine rehabilitation potential and establish an individualized treatment plan.
• Administer physical therapy treatments according to professional standards and department procedures to maximize patient functioning and achieve treatment goals coordinated with the patient or family, physician, and other team members.
• Maintain accurate documentation, department records, and reports for assigned patients to record care and communicate treatment plans and progress to referring physicians.
• Maintain professional growth and competency to support quality care.
• Contribute to the efficient and productive operation of rehabilitation services.
• Communicate effectively with rehabilitation team members about physical therapy programs to support understanding and patient care.
