About The Position

Join Bronson's Orthopedic & Sports Medicine team at our Centre Street clinic in Portage and experience the difference of a 1:1 patient care model that allows you to provide individualized treatment, build meaningful patient relationships, and deliver exceptional outcomes. As a Physical Therapist, you will evaluate and treat patients recovering from orthopedic injuries, sports-related conditions, surgery, and other musculoskeletal impairments. Working within a collaborative outpatient rehabilitation environment, you'll help patients restore function, improve performance, reduce pain, and return to the activities they enjoy most. Whether helping an athlete return to competition, supporting post-surgical recovery, or guiding patients back to everyday activities, you'll play a vital role in improving lives through evidence-based, patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • Current Michigan Physical Therapist license in good standing.
  • BLS certification within three months of hire.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and computer systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in orthopedic and/or sports medicine rehabilitation.
  • Interest in treating active individuals, athletes, and post-surgical orthopedic patients.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations using standardized assessments and clinical expertise.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on physician referrals, clinical findings, and patient goals.
  • Provide direct one-on-one patient care utilizing evidence-based orthopedic and sports medicine interventions.
  • Assess and monitor strength, mobility, range of motion, balance, coordination, endurance, and functional performance.
  • Establish measurable goals and modify treatment plans based on patient progress and outcomes.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, recovery expectations, injury prevention, wellness strategies, and home exercise programs.
  • Collaborate with physicians, athletic trainers, and rehabilitation team members to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary discussions and clinical collaboration efforts.
  • Design or recommend splints, braces, and assistive devices as needed.
  • Contribute to program development and departmental process improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and provide education within areas of expertise.
  • Provide coverage within Rehabilitation Services as needed.
  • Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation in the electronic health record.
  • Maintain complete records of evaluations, treatment plans, interventions, patient progress, and outcomes.
  • Communicate documentation barriers or workflow concerns to leadership in a timely manner.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and quality improvement activities.
  • Demonstrate effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs), Rehabilitation Clinical Assistants, PT and PTA students, volunteers, and athletic trainers as appropriate.
  • Support student education and clinical rotations.
  • Foster a collaborative environment focused on learning, innovation, and clinical excellence.
