About The Position

Backus Hospital is seeking a per diem Physical Therapist for its acute care team. The Physical Therapist administers medically prescribed treatments, independently evaluates patients’ functional levels, determines treatment strategies, and delivers or delegates services to identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain. The role includes evaluating and analyzing patients and applying physical and chemical agents, exercise, and other procedures to maximize functional independence. The position offers flexible scheduling and provides weekend, holiday, and time-off coverage. Evening and weekday coverage is a plus. Requirements

Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
Current State of Connecticut Physical Therapy license required.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience as a Physical Therapist in an acute care setting preferred.
Evening and weekday coverage is a plus.
