About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehab is seeking a PRN Physical Therapist to join their growing multi-disciplinary team in their Inpatient Rehab settings. This PRN PT position will cover the inpatient rehab unit and requires working a minimum of two weekend days per month. The candidate will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to treat medically complex patients with stroke, brain injury, SCI, and other acquired neuro diagnoses and co-morbidities. The ideal candidate will have strong neurological rehab skills and work well in a team setting. Previous Rehab or Acute hospital experience with cognitive rehab, brain injury, and stroke is preferred. This role is not open to new graduates.

Requirements

Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Physical Therapist required.
Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment required.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience with the adult Neuro population
Acute or IPR experience preferred
Previous Rehab or Acute hospital experience with cognitive rehab, brain injury and stroke

Responsibilities

Evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements and modifies treatment plan in accordance with the patient’s need and physician direction.
Responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients.
Ensures the design of functional and patient-centered treatment programs allowing for an effective return to community, vocational or academic activities.
Serves as an educator of patients, families, students, co-workers and self.
Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, development of discipline-specific therapy services and design of program delivery.
Evaluate the patient's level of functioning and develop an individualized treatment plan aligned with patient and family goals.
Participates in discharge planning including, patient and family education, and recommendation of DME, community mobility as able.
