About The Position

Texas Health Neighborhood Care & Wellness Prosper is seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist (PT) to join their Outpatient team on a PRN/As needed basis. This role involves providing age-appropriate patient treatment using therapeutic techniques within the scope of the professional license. The PT will be responsible for determining patient response to treatment, evaluating progress, and educating patients and their families on treatment plans, safety, home programs, and assistive equipment. The position emphasizes patient-centered care, with therapists treating one patient per hour without overlapping patients. The facility is part of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano and serves the growing communities of Prosper, Frisco, Little Elm, Pilot Point, Celina, and surrounding areas. It offers a comprehensive range of outpatient services, including physical therapy, sports therapy, and hand therapy, supported by advanced imaging capabilities and a 24/7 Emergency Department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Completion of a Physical Therapy program, upon hire required
  • PT - Physical Therapist, Texas Physical Therapy License, upon hire required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support, prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Problem solving ability

  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Basic leadership skills

Nice To Haves

  • Strong Outpatient Orthopedic experience highly preferred
  • Occupational Clinical Specialist preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs age appropriate patient treatment
  • Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment
  • Performs treatment procedures that are within the scope of the professional license
  • Performs/delegates technical procedures appropriately and safely
  • Utilizes a variety of treatment techniques to achieve goals, if necessary
  • Determines patient response to treatment and evaluates progress (reassessment)
  • Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment
  • Maintains patient safety throughout treatment
  • Communicates with physicians and other healthcare personnel as appropriate regarding patient care issues
  • Demonstrates competence in the performance of age appropriate patient treatment and individualizes care based on age specific needs
  • Motivates non-compliant or unmotivated patients to participate in therapy
