About The Position
Amedisys, part of the Optum family of businesses, provides home health, hospice, and community-based services. The Physical Therapist provides skilled physical therapy services to patients in their homes to promote mobility, restore function, improve strength and balance, and enhance safety and independence. The role involves working collaboratively with patients, caregivers, and an interdisciplinary care team to support recovery, help prevent hospitalizations, and improve quality of life in the home setting. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, an equity stock purchase plan, and 401(k) contributions, subject to eligibility requirements. The stated annual salary range is $80,864 to $121,296 for full-time employment. Candidates must pass a drug test before beginning employment.
Requirements
- Current physical therapy license specific to the state where assigned to work.
- Graduate of a physical therapy educational program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
- At least 1 year of related physical therapy experience for PTs entering home health care. Applicants with less than 1 year of experience require approval from regional clinical leaders and appropriate mentoring and/or participation in a residency program.
- Current CPR certification.
- Pass a drug test before beginning employment.
Responsibilities
- Help patients maintain, restore, and improve movement, activity, and function.
- Provide interventions, conduct reexaminations at least every 30 days, modify interventions as necessary, and perform discharge planning.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
