POSITION SUMMARY This position serves in a residency program which provides structured training to physical therapy residents or specialty certification enrollee to become a confident and competent specialty certified Clinical Physical Therapist. This position is responsible for the evaluation, planning, administration, and supervision of Physical Therapy treatment in accordance with physician referral, state and national organizational standards, regulatory agencies, and established departmental policies and procedures. This position demonstrates the clinical competence and knowledge necessary to provide treatment appropriate to the age of the patients served. Conducts and participates in educational activities, applies principles of performance improvement, and participates in facility and system committee(s) as appropriate. Must possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status, interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements and provide physical therapy care based on those needs. Adheres to local, state, and federal laws regarding the profession of physical therapy practice.
