About The Position

Montage Orthopedics and Sports Medicine - Ryan Ranch is seeking a Physical Therapist-OCS Resident to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. Under the leadership of the Director of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, this role involves collaborating with referring providers to assess patient needs, develop personalized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based therapy. The resident will also participate in outreach and partnerships with local healthcare providers. The position requires scheduling mentoring hours, professional/educational activities such as physician observations, journal presentations, case rounds, scholarly work, and self-study. Responsibilities include evaluating referrals, conducting assessments, documenting progress, administering treatments, supervising support staff (PTAs), and ensuring accurate documentation and billing. The therapist will contribute to program development, stay current with professional education, and foster strong relationships. Upholding safety standards, maintaining confidentiality, and reflecting organizational values are essential.

Requirements

  • Zero (0) to three (3) years of experience in an outpatient orthopedic clinic.
  • Computer literate.
  • Prior experience using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
  • Highly organized.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Strong telephone communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Efficient filing systems.
  • Standard office equipment proficiency.
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations.
  • Ability to meet deadlines effectively.
  • Strong language skills to read and write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to document treatment plans and billing codes accurately.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with physicians, patients, vendors, and staff.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to follow straightforward written or verbal instructions.
  • Ability to apply sound reasoning in routine clinical and administrative situations.
  • Graduate of accredited physical therapy school.
  • CA State Board of Physical Therapy licensure or has applied for CA state licensure.
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification.

  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals referred to the medical group.
  • Collaborate with referring providers to assess patient needs, develop personalized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based therapy.
  • Participate in outreach and partnerships with local healthcare providers.
  • Schedule an average of 5 mentoring hours per week with their mentor.
  • Engage in 8 hours of professional/educational activities per week, including physician surgical/clinical/office observations, journal presentations, case rounds, scholarly presentation work, and self-study.
  • Evaluate referrals and patient records.
  • Conduct assessments and document progress in accordance with clinical best practices.
  • Administer appropriate treatments.
  • Supervise support staff including Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs).
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of documentation and billing.
  • Contribute to the development of the rehabilitation program.
  • Stay current with professional education.
  • Foster strong relationships with patients, colleagues, and external providers.
  • Uphold safety standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
