About The Position

The Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Corporation, part of Mass General Brigham, is seeking a Physical Therapist Float for its Outpatient centers in the West Region. This role involves assisting patients in reaching maximum physical performance, restoring physical function, and administering treatments. The therapist will provide coverage at Spaulding Outpatient Centers in Framingham, Wellesley, and Brighton. This position requires direct patient care.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program is required.
  • For licensure prior to 2016, a bachelor's or master's degree is acceptable; licensure from 2016 onward requires completion of a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program.
  • Physical Therapist [State License] required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems.
  • Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Teaching others how to do something.
  • Excellent problem solving, case management and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree Physical Therapy preferred.
  • Doctor of Physical Therapy Physical Therapy preferred.
  • Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License preferred.
  • Experience completing internship or apprenticeship program 1-2 years preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients in reaching maximum physical performance while adjusting to disabilities.
  • Restore patient physical functioning by interpreting physical therapy evaluations and test results.
  • Determine physical therapy treatment goals and plans.
  • Administer manual exercises.
  • Instruct, encourage, and assist patients in performing physical activities and in using assistive and supportive devices.
  • Complete billing sheets accurately by the end of the day.
  • Evaluate the effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
  • Perform patient assessment and establish a plan of care.
  • Provide in-service education programs for nursing personnel as needed.
  • Identify and document goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation.
  • Discuss evaluation, goals, and treatment with both patient and family.
  • Participate in Hospital-wide quality process improvement.
  • Supervise PTAs according to organization policy and state regulations.
