About The Position

Join a dedicated team of professionals in providing exceptional physical therapy services as a Physical Therapist Assistant. This role focuses on implementing treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist, assessing patients' progress, and assisting individuals of all ages in improving their mobility and functional abilities.

Requirements

  • Entry-level qualifying Physical Therapy Assistant associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited program.
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and physical therapy principles relevant to patient treatment.
  • Proficient in utilizing adaptive devices and equipment for patient rehabilitation.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to document and present patient progress clearly and accurately.
  • Skilled in using information technology and various software applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in diverse settings and adapt to changing environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous acute care hospital and outpatient experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver therapy treatments based on the physical therapist's plan of care, focusing on achieving patient goals.
  • Participate in clinical rounds, meetings, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to evaluate and address patient needs.
  • Document patient encounters, including assessments, treatment plans, and progress updates in compliance with hospital policies.
  • Assist in setting up medical equipment and ensure proper care plans are established prior to patient discharge.
  • Conduct patient education programs tailored to individual and family needs, including providing home exercise programs.
  • Support administrative duties, utilize computer systems for patient information management, and assist in clinic operations.
  • Facilitate a partnership among healthcare providers, patients, and their families to promote self-care and independence.
  • Engage in community outreach programs and home visits as needed, adapting therapy plans to various environments.
  • Educate staff and patients on therapy-related matters, and assist in ongoing clinical education and in-services.
  • Maintain a clean and organized clinical space, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
