This role involves assisting Physical Therapists (PT) in delivering high-quality rehabilitation services to pediatric and adult clients, providing one-on-one sixty-minute physical therapy sessions. PTs and PTAs communicate with relevant stakeholders for coordinated and effective client care, reflecting Origami’s mission, vision, and core values with inclusivity, timeliness, and effectiveness. The position is dynamic, with treatment provided at Lansing-based campuses (Origami Main in Mason, Origami Greenlawn in South Lansing, and Origami West in West Lansing), requiring flexibility and adaptability as the work location may vary based on organizational needs.

Requirements

Possess a valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in the State of Michigan
Certification as a Brain Injury Specialist (provided by Origami)
CPR, First Aid, AED certification (provided by Origami)

Responsibilities

Document, and assist in the implementation of treatment plans for pediatric and adult clients under the direction of licensed Physical Therapists and as prescribed by referring physicians.
Educate staff, clients, and external stakeholders on prescribed home exercise programs and other physical therapy modalities as directed by supervising Physical Therapists.
Adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines concerning program participants, both internally and when interacting with external individuals or agencies.
Proactively assist in task initiation and completion, employing appropriate problem-solving techniques to support effective communication and resolve issues promptly.
Document daily notes in a timely manner, ensuring comprehensive documentation for client records.
Maintain caseload levels within reasonable limits as directed by the Physical Therapy Supervisor, ensuring quality care delivery and client satisfaction.
Attend staff meetings, orientation, in-service trainings, clinical reviews, and care conferences (as needed).
Provide caseload coverage for PT services (as needed).
Perform therapy gym maintenance duties such as cleaning surfaces, and laundry needs (as needed).
Participate in program development, budget planning, and small therapy supply inventory (as needed).
Other duties as assigned by the PT Supervisor (as needed).
