About The Position
Baptist Memorial Rehabilitation Hospital - Madison is hiring a PRN Physical Therapist Assistant for its inpatient rehabilitation facility in Madison, Mississippi. Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, the assistant implements patients’ rehabilitation care plans and helps patients participate in tasks that restore, reinforce, and enhance their performance. The role also involves communicating patient progress, documenting care, supporting families and nursing staff with follow-through programs, and maintaining a safe and clean work area. The hospital is a 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital and part of Lifepoint Health, a healthcare delivery network with acute care, rehabilitation, and behavioral health facilities. Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program culminating in an associate degree.
- Current state licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant, or equivalent, in the states where services are rendered.
- CPR certification when required.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality, compassionate care in a secure setting.
- Implement patients’ rehabilitation care plans under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
- Help mentally and/or physically impaired patients participate in tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance their performance.
- Communicate patient progress or problems to the supervisor and other team members.
- Assist with patient scheduling and post charges daily to patient records.
- Document patient care in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer, and accrediting requirements.
- Instruct patients’ families or nursing staff in follow-through programs.
- Maintain equipment and the work area in a safe and clean condition.
- Perform job responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct, Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable professional standards, and state and federal laws.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
