About The Position

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) works in an inpatient rehabilitation facility, providing quality, compassionate care in a secure setting. Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, the PTA implements patients’ rehabilitation care plans and helps patients with mental and/or physical impairments participate in tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance their performance. The role also involves communicating patient progress and problems to supervisors and team members, assisting with scheduling and charges, documenting care, instructing families or nursing staff in follow-through programs, and maintaining a safe, clean work area. The position is PRN at Baptist Memorial Rehabilitation Hospital in Madison, Mississippi.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant/PTA program culminating in an associate degree.
Current state licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant/PTA or equivalent in the states where services are rendered.
CPR certification when required.

Responsibilities

Provide quality, compassionate care in a secure setting.
Under the supervision of the Physical Therapist, implement patients’ rehabilitation care plans.
Help mentally and/or physically impaired patients participate in tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance their performance.
Communicate patient progress or problems to the supervisor and other team members.
Assist with patient scheduling and post charges daily to patient records.
Document patient care in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer, and accrediting requirements.
Instruct patients’ families or nursing staff in follow-through programs.
Maintain equipment and work area in a safe and clean condition.
Handle responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct, Corporate Compliance Agreement, professional standards, and applicable state and federal laws.
Perform other duties as assigned.
