About The Position

Works under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to provide treatment for disability, injury, disease, or other health conditions using physical, chemical, and mechanical means. Interventions may include heat, cold, light, air, water, sound, electricity, massage, mobilization, and therapeutic exercise, with or without assistive devices.

Requirements

• Fulfill the requirements to be a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in New York State.
• Strongly preferred to be licensed and registered as a Physical Therapist Assistant in New York State. Candidates with a limited permit may be considered if they become licensed and registered within six months of hire; the department may seek, for justifiable cause, to renew the permit for up to an additional six months.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

• At least two years of clinical experience; new graduates will also be considered.
• Experience in an acute care setting.
• Current New York State licensure and registration as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
