Licensed Physical Therapist Asst PRN
About The Position
HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to provide individualized care that helps patients restore mobility and independence. The role involves delivering therapeutic exercises and functional training, applying physical therapy techniques and modalities, monitoring patient progress, and documenting responses. The assistant teaches patients and families about assistive devices and home exercise programs, and collaborates with physical therapists, nurses, aides, and the wider care team. The position requires working two shifts per four-week rotation.
Requirements
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (LPTA).
- Current Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant credential in the state of Texas.
- Associate degree from a PTA program.
- At least 1–2 years of experience in a rehabilitation setting.
- Must be able to work two shifts per four-week rotation.
Responsibilities
- Deliver therapeutic exercises and functional training to help patients regain independence and mobility.
- Apply physical therapy techniques and modalities to reduce pain and restore function.
- Monitor patient progress and document responses to support safe, effective care.
- Teach patients and families how to use assistive devices and follow home exercise programs.
- Work with physical therapists, nurses, aides, and the care team to enhance the patient experience and support a culture of excellence.
