About The Position

Lucas Therapies, a H2 Health company, is seeking a full-time Float Physical Therapist Assistant to support outpatient clinics throughout the Roanoke region of Virginia. The role offers variety, collaboration, and the opportunity to work with diverse patient populations across multiple clinic locations. Experienced clinicians and new graduates are welcome. Float clinicians work across the Lucas Therapies and H2 Health network in the Roanoke market, gaining exposure to different patient populations and working with clinical teams to provide individualized, evidence-based care.

The PTA provides skilled physical therapy treatment under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, implements individualized treatment plans, educates patients and caregivers, documents progress, and collaborates with clinical colleagues. The role uses Scribe AI-powered documentation technology and the Raintree EMR platform. Travel between assigned clinics throughout the Roanoke region is required as needed.

Requirements

• Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current Virginia Physical Therapist Assistant license or eligibility for licensure.
• CPR certification or willingness to obtain it as required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Ability and willingness to travel between assigned clinic locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy treatment under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Implement individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence.
• Treat orthopedic, post-operative, musculoskeletal, balance, vestibular, and mobility-related conditions.
• Educate patients and caregivers about home exercise programs and injury prevention strategies.
• Accurately document patient progress and communicate treatment updates with the clinical team.
• Use Scribe AI-powered documentation technology to streamline documentation and maximize patient care time.
• Use the Raintree EMR platform for documentation, scheduling, and patient management.
• Travel between assigned clinic locations throughout the Roanoke region as needed.
• Collaborate with Physical Therapists and support staff to support strong patient outcomes.
