Float Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Outpatient
About The Position
Lucas Therapies, a H2 Health company, is seeking a Float Physical Therapist Assistant to support outpatient clinics throughout the Roanoke region. The role offers work across multiple locations in the Lucas Therapies and H2 Health network, exposure to diverse patient populations, and collaboration with clinical teams providing individualized, evidence-based care. Experienced clinicians and new graduates are encouraged to apply. The PTA provides skilled physical therapy treatment under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, implements individualized treatment plans, educates patients and caregivers, documents progress, and communicates treatment updates with the clinical team. The position uses Scribe AI-powered documentation technology and the Raintree EMR platform. Travel between assigned clinic locations throughout the Roanoke region is required as needed. The schedule is Monday through Friday.
Requirements
- Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current Virginia Physical Therapist Assistant license or eligibility for licensure.
- CPR certification or willingness to obtain it as required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Ability and willingness to travel between assigned clinic locations.

Responsibilities
- Provide skilled physical therapy treatment under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Implement individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence.
- Treat orthopedic, post-operative, musculoskeletal, balance, vestibular, and mobility-related conditions.
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and injury prevention strategies.
- Accurately document patient progress and communicate treatment updates with the clinical team.
- Use Scribe AI-powered documentation technology to streamline documentation and maximize patient care time.
- Use the Raintree EMR platform for documentation, scheduling, and patient management.
- Travel between assigned clinic locations throughout the Roanoke region as needed.
- Collaborate with Physical Therapists and support staff to support strong patient outcomes.
