Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) PRN
About The Position
Central Texas Rehabilitation Hospital is a 50-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation facility located at 700 W 45th Street in Austin, Texas. It’s designed to help individuals recover from serious injuries or illnesses that have significantly impacted their ability to function independently. The hospital offers specialized rehabilitation programs for patients recovering from stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, orthopedic trauma, and other neurological or complex conditions. Patients typically receive at least three hours of physical, occupational, and/or speech therapy per day, five days a week, under the supervision of a rehabilitation physician. The facility offers modern therapy equipment, private rooms, and a dedicated team focused on maximizing recovery and quality of life, with 24/7 nursing and physician oversight. As a PRN Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), you will contribute to making communities healthier by providing physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, assisting in restoring function and improving mobility.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree from a PTA program.
- Current PTA license in state of practice.
- CPR certification required.
Nice To Haves
- Rehab or acute care experience preferred.
- Team-oriented and patient-focused with strong communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Administer physical therapy interventions as directed by the supervising PT.
- Assist in patient mobility and exercise routines.
- Monitor patient responses and report progress to PT.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for treatment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
