Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Full-Time
About The Position
Independence Rehab is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to work with older adults in its geriatric clinics at Cascades at Riverwalk. The role supports residents recovering from illness or injury, managing chronic conditions, and navigating life transitions, with a focus on mobility, confidence, dignity, and functional outcomes. The work is relationship-driven and collaborative, treating a medically complex geriatric population while allowing time for clinical reasoning and compassionate care. The position offers a flexible schedule and a stated hourly pay range of $28–$34. The company describes itself as small and therapist-owned, with independent therapy operations, clinician advocacy, clinical autonomy, realistic productivity expectations of 85–90%, stable leadership, and protection from unrealistic facility pressure. New graduates are welcome and receive structured onboarding, one-to-one documentation and treatment training, tailored mentorship, and ongoing clinical support.
Requirements
- Hold an active Utah PTA license in good standing.
- Graduate from an accredited PTA program.
- Have an interest in geriatric care and functional outcomes.
Nice To Haves
- Skilled nursing facility (SNF) experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Guide residents through mobility milestones, including first steps, safe transfers, and returning home.
- Lead gait, balance, strengthening, and functional training sessions.
- Help reduce fall risk and build residents’ confidence with daily activities.
- Collaborate with the physical therapist to adjust care plans.
- Work with nursing, occupational therapy, and speech therapy to support whole-person recovery.
