The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will treat patients as directed by a Physical Therapist, record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes, and assist in maintaining the department. This role involves participating in patient care conferences, assisting with cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area, and treating patients according to the physician's treatment plan. The PTA will also assist the nursing department with training Restorative Aides, communicate patient progress to supervisors and health team members, and participate in in-service training programs. Additionally, the PTA will record treatment changes, instruct patient families or nursing staff in maintenance programs, and report any equipment issues. A key aspect of this role is the ability to relate positively and effectively with patients, families, staff, and colleagues.
