About The Position

You will be the Physical Security Emerging Technology Lead for the Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) Security team. Our team is responsible for managing core security platforms, ensuring compliance, and driving physical security strategy across the business area. The Lockheed Martin MFC Physical Security Emerging Technology Lead is the subject matter expert and chief systems administrator for the business’s core security platforms—access control, video management, and intrusion detection, among many others. You will ensure that enterprise security standards are consistently applied and effectively integrated across every MFC site. You will also oversee high visibility corporate-wide projects to introduce large scale emerging technology and systems, consolidate and streamline current operations, and keep pace with the business’ multi-billion dollar investment in facilities master planning. Success will look like ensuring MFC Security operations and capabilities are compliant, standardized, optimized, and ahead of evolving threats.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • This position also requires an Enhanced Security Review.
  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise/certifications on access control, video management (and AI driven video analytics), alarm systems, and leading or integrating security requirements into large scale engineering and construction projects
  • Demonstrate familiarity and experience with security operations centers and proven experience deploying new and emerging technologies
  • Strong self‑starter mindset; ability to manage 5+ concurrent projects while displaying unmatched ownership of them.
  • Willingness to work onsite in a hybrid model, travel occasionally, perform on call duties in support of 24/7/365 operations, and the flexibility to occasionally work long hours to meet business needs.
  • MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
  • The selected candidate must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Defense, intelligence, or security‑industry background
  • Certifications: FSO, GSA Safe & Vault Technician (or related), PMP (or equivalent), Lean Six Sigma/Kaizen
  • Physical Security Technology: Deep experience supporting access control, video management, intrusion detection systems, or other enterprise security technology
  • Contract Management: Deep experience and familiarity with VARs, security technology companies and products, vendor management, negotiation skills, maintenance contracts, being a contract monitor, writing and evaluating Statements of Work, RFIs and RFPs, validating billing/invoices/quotes
  • Data Analysis Tools: Experience with data analysis and visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
  • Project Management: Deep experience managing budgets, invoicing, forecasting, schedules, metrics, Key Performance Indicators
  • Design Review: Experience participating in construction design review processes
  • Familiarity with UL, NISPOM, and DCSA construction requirements
  • Influence: Proven ability to lead diverse, multi‑disciplinary teams; strong oral and written communication at the executive level; skilled persuader of senior stakeholders and peers outside of your organization; ability to communicate complex technical topics to non-technical audiences.
  • Analytical Thinking: Capability to translate complex technical/security requirements into clear, actionable project deliverables.
  • Innovation: Track record of evaluating and implementing emerging security technologies.
  • Collaboration: Demonstrated success partnering with government customers, internal program offices, and external auditors.
  • Familiarity of the following IT concepts helps partner with Information Technology, Networking, and Corporate Information Security in an effective way: Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FEDRAMP), vulnerability scans/mitigations, isoLANs, VLANS, firmware, monthly patches on systems, system auditing, server management and OS hardening, bandwidth, digital certificates

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily security operations and large‑scale tech programs, define the emerging‑technology roadmap, and pilot innovative solutions.
  • Mentor and train junior team members while advancing knowledge‑transfer curricula.
  • Drive audit‑readiness programs and ensure 100 % compliance with UL/32 CFR Part 117 and NISPOM.
  • Oversee multi‑million‑dollar security‑maintenance contracts and vendor performance.
  • Be the hub, integrator, and trusted advisor that connects Security, Facilities, Maintenance, ESH, and Programs to ensure requirements are identified, translated clearly, and delivered consistently IAW Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Serve on corporate working & advisory groups
  • Lead emerging security technologies, studying their impact, building effective relationships with peers both inside and outside of the defense industrial base as we implement “best of breed” solutions.
  • Piloting new technology and continuing to push the boundaries to enable the business in an acceleration-focused environment
  • Partner with new construction to build collateral open storage areas, associated design reviews, UL oversight, and DCSA compliance.
