About The Position

St. Elizabeth is seeking a full-time P.E. Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The P.E. Teacher will report to the school Principal and is responsible for planning and implementing the instructional program for grades PreK3-6th grade and for athletic activities. This position is closely connected to and assists the Diocesan Bishop in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the church. As an integral part of ministry for the Church, this position will support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the Diocese of Corpus Christi in both professional and personal life. Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church. Continuously grow in the ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Texas driver's license
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must support the goals of Catholic tradition in education
• Must submit to employment required screenings including a criminal history background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screening
• Certification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office of Safe Environment and Child & Family Resources
• Position requires adherence to Diocesan policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Formulating and planning all physical activities using diocesan curriculum. This includes, but is not limited to, sports activities.
• Coordinates extra-curricular sports activities with the designated parties
• Encourages and promotes a positive attitude towards both winning and losing to her/his students and assistants
• Is responsible for obtaining the appropriate materials and equipment to be used for instructional activities
• Honors and adheres to the code and directives of the Parochial Sports League of the Diocese of Corpus Christi
• Attends in-services, workshops, and other school/parish events as instructed by the Principal
• Performs other duties as instructed by the Principal
