About The Position

Woburn Public Schools is seeking a Physical Education Teacher to report directly to the Principal. The ideal candidate will collaborate with district personnel to deliver high-quality instruction to a diverse student population, fostering a safe, equitable, and culturally responsive learning environment with high expectations for all students.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
Current Massachusetts's DESE Certification in Physical Education.
At least 3 years of experience teaching elementary PE.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree preferred.
Experience working with students in Special Education programs.

Prepares motivating and stimulating lessons that reflect knowledge of the curriculum, child development, and student abilities.
Encourages an inclusive classroom that accepts different perspectives and backgrounds, fostering a greater understanding of the world with a global perspective.
Utilizes a variety of assessments and uses data to develop lessons and instructional activities.
Updates curriculum and materials as needed.
Creates a motivating and age-appropriate learning environment with clear expectations for classwork and homework.
Maintains current books and instructional resources.
Seeks to actively know students’ strengths and weaknesses and responds promptly and with care to parent concerns.
Communicates effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators.
Maintains an accurate and organized system for monitoring student grades and records.
Meets reporting deadlines and requirements and follows school-wide procedures for reporting grades.
Prepares well-thought-out and thorough conference reports and written documentation on student progress.
Maintains daily and weekly plans.
Demonstrates strong classroom management skills.
